I have just completed my first largest project of the year, in St Helens near Manchester and Liverpool, The project had been planned and designed since November 2021, and i worked closely with Heart of Glass and the residents of Tickle Avenue, To make sure my designs best represented what the locals imagined to see. The mural project was a nice experience and the weather remained really nice through the whole of the project, and it took 18 days, with a little help from an assistant artist over a few days here and there to speed things along.
The locals was very happy with the mural and it was great to hear all the nice stories from people who made their own personal connections with the elements of the imagery. My favourite part of painting the mural was painting the moss growing over the glass orb.
The glass orbs are a popular tourist ornament from the glass museum which is local in the town, and i love to use different elements in my work and various objects at different occasions, my idea was to entwine the flowers and butterflies inside the glass orbs, to hold it and keep forever.
